The nave in 2006 when chairs were removed for the first time in 100 years
WINCHESTER Cathedral will be taking a step into the past for the New Year when they remove all the chairs from the Nave.
Visitors will have the opportunity between Friday January 4 and Sunday February 3, to experience what the nave would have looked like in earlier times when people were expected to stand in church.
There is also the chance to experience the cathedral at night when it will be partially lit by candles.
Tours and demonstrations will be laid on from 5.30-8.30pm on Tuesday January 29.
