WINCHESTER civic chiefs are considering a new CCTV camera for the city centre.
One possible site is Hyde Abbey Garden, near the River Park Leisure Centre, where glass artwork was vandalised in July 2010.
A new camera was recently added at the junction of Jewry Street and City Road, a noted area for anti-social behaviour, a report to the town forum last night heard.
The town forum is made up of city councillors from the six city wards.
Other forum proposals for this year are spending £10,000 on community planning exercises in Weeke and Winnall, similar to one underway in Stanmore.
St Maurice’s Covert, the covered area off the High Street, could benefit from spending of £10,000 a year for the next four years.
