THIS is the man police believe is involved in a string of burglaries on one day across the Winchester and East Hampshire districts.

Two suspects, one of whom features in the efit, who were seen on the driveway of a house in Martyr Worthy, near Winchester, at around 11.10am on Thursday, November 15.

They were disturbed by the homeowners.  One of the men approached them and said he was lost and tried to get directions to Alresford.  Both men then got into a vehicle and drove off towards the town.

Police are investigating burglaries on November 15 at homes in Woodlands, Bramdean; Lower Chilland Lane, Martyr Worthy; the B3047, Bishop's Sutton; a house near to the B3046, Old Alresford, and two near Alton at Church Road, Upper Farringdon and The Street, Binstead.

PC Craig Robinson said: “We believe that the men were disturbed before trying to gain access to the property in Martyr Worthy.  I am appealing for anyone who recognises these men to come forward and speak to us.

He added: “As we approach the festive season, we would encourage people to ensure their home security is optimised, such as security lighting, including internal timer switches; ensuring homes are locked and secured whilst they are out, marking property with UV pens, photographing valuable or distinctive jewellery, and considering keeping expensive or sentimental items in a safety deposit box at their bank.”
