A WINCHESTER restaurant has raised more than £550 for charity.

The Bangkok Brasserie in Jewry Street raised the cash for Brendoncare with a traditional Thai banquet.

Emma Digance, Brendoncare head of fundraising said: “We know the economic pressures people are under at the moment so we can't thank the Bangkok Brasserie enough for their support and to everyone who turned out and donated so generously.”

It was organised by volunteers John Le-Riche and Dorothy Trinder while Mayor and Mayoress of Winchester Frank and Anne Pearson attended.

The next Brendoncare fundraiser takes place on Sunday, December 16, with a Christmas concert at Winchester College.
