A WINCHESTER care home is taking residents down memory lane next week.

Bereweeke Court Nursing Home is holding ‘reminiscence parties’ from Monday, November 12 to Sunday, November 18 as part of Bupa’s Memory Share Week.

Manager Joanne Tomlinson said: “Talking about the good old days and sharing happy memories from times gone by is something all our residents love to do and they have no trouble in telling us a few stories!

“What’s great is that they can all get involved with reminiscing, no matter what their age. People who might have difficulty remembering what’s happened recently can have vivid memories from the past.

“I know everyone is really looking forward to getting together with old friends, family members and the local community for tips on how to share and capture the things which make us smile.”

Bupa has also created an online ‘Map of Life’ tool for residents to record their favourite memories in large books.

Memory Share Week is also being supported by Age Exchange, a national charity that helps older people with memory problems.
