THE University of Winchester is hosting a conference on race next week.

Organised by student Thomas Sampson and online journal RACE, it will apply critical thinking about race to a number of social issues in the UK.

The conference features six keynote speakers, including prominent critical race theorist Dr Charles W. Mills, and will also hold three panels examining racial questions on justice, education and adoption.

Winchester City Council is one of four sponsors of the conference along the university itself, RACE and JS Audio Repairs.

Mr Sampson said: β€œIt is great to see so much support for this conference which should prove to be a great event and produce some groundbreaking research.”

The event takes place on Saturday, November 10 from 8am-5pm at The Stripe Theatre in Sparkford Road.
