A WINCHESTER woman has been honoured for helping shape the future of children’s lives.

Sharon Munden, work experience coordinator at Peter Symonds College, won the 2012 Solent EBP Amazing Peoples Award for Work Experience.

It recognises her role in the college’s careers department setting up external placements for students on courses like Health & Social Care, Business Administration & Finance and BTEC Sport.

Debbie Mahoney, college head of careers, said: “Sharon was one of three people shortlisted for this award and we are all delighted about her win.

“She certainly deserves this wider recognition of all her hard work and the extra mile she goes to ensure that every student at Peter Symonds, who needs to undertake work experience as an integral part of their course, has a valuable placement.”
