A PARALYMPIC hero inspired children at a Sutton Scotney hospice last month.
Paul Blake visited Naomi House recently to talk to the children and young people there suffering from life-limiting conditions.
Paul, who has cerebral palsy, won silver and bronze at the 2012 Paralympics in the T36 400m and 800m respectively.
After touring the hospice Paul sat down to talk to the children about his experiences at the games, the training it took to get there and his plans for the future.
Adrian Redshaw, of the hospice play team, said: “Paul’s presence in the hospice certainly caused a lot of excitement on Sunday. He was so generous with his time and the children and young people, many of whom have disabilities themselves, were fascinated by his story and inspired by his determination.”
Children were also able to take turns wearing Paul’s medals, have pictures taken with him and present him with their own Paralympics-themed artwork.
