A NEW booklet that sheds light on Winchester cathedral is being launched with two tours of the building.
The book - Heroes & Villains of Winchester Cathedral - has been produced by the Friends of Winchester Cathedral.
The tours will be on November 12 and 19 at 1.30pm and will be led by the book’s authors Pat Thornhill and Anna Withers.
The tours will detail the stories of the 20 personalities found in the book, including a Queen, great Bishops, master masons, rebellious monks and courageous priors.

The book is available from the Cathedral Gift Shop and the Friends Office priced at £6.95. All profits from the book will go directly to the Friends for their work supporting the Cathedral.
The Friends provide regular grants to the Cathedral for restoration, choristers, flowers and many other projects. They are currently fundraising towards the restoration of the medieval stained glass in parts of the Cathedral.
