Man sought following alleged assault on young girl
A MAN who allegedly pushed a teenage girl against a fence and attempted to assault her is being hunted by police.
The 15-year-old has told officers she was twice approached by the man while she was talking on her mobile phone, at the junction of Ullswater Avenue and Windemere Road in Chartwell Green, West End.
On the first occasion he bumped into her as she stood next to the post box.
He apologised, but soon after approached the girl again, this time pushing her against a fence and attempting to assault her, before walking away down Windemere Road, towards Townhill Way.
Nothing was said by either the man or the girl, who was not harmed, and officers are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
The man is described as white, in his early 20s, approximately 5ft 9ins tall and of slim build.
He was clean shaven with a clear complexion, had dirty blond colour short hair, and smelled of smoke.
He was wearing white trainers, baggy dark navy coloured jeans, and a black/navy blue hooded top with blue and white graffiti style writing on.
The incident happened at approximately 8.45pm on Sunday, May 4.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or recognises the description of this man should call at Hedge End CID on 0845 045 45 45, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
