Bank card thieves removed £1,000 from victim’s account
DISTRACTION thieves are believed to behind the withdrawal of almost £1,000 from a North Baddesley woman's bank account.
Police say a man and woman stopped the victim in Romsey's Waitrose car park and asked her for directions.
After going shopping in the store, the woman returned to her car and discovered a purse containing several bankcards was missing from her bag.
Later she reported cash had been taken out of her bank account. The incident happened on Saturday July 26 at about 10am.
Police are warning the public to be wary of anyone asking for directions and to keep purses out of sight and all handbags and other bags fastened in a bid to prevent would-be thieves from removing property.
