New NHS dentist in Romsey
ROMSEY has a new NHS dental surgery but patients can only register with the practice via a special phone hotline.
The town centre based Associated Dental Practice (ADP) opened last Friday and it will be taking on 6,000 patients. NHS bosses say the practice, known as Romsey Dental Surgery ADP, will serve the local community and will be taking on a limited number of patients each month for the next twelve months. This is to avoid a build-up in waiting times and people who do not require urgent treatment are being asked to wait for a month or so, to allow patients requiring immediate care to be seen first.
Anyone who is looking for a NHS dentist in the town is asked to call the Dental Helpline on 0845-050-8345 between 2.30pm to 5.30pm Monday to Friday only. People who go to the surgery to register will not be seen.
Head of primary care for contracting for Hampshire Primary Care Trust Julia Bagshaw said: "We are pleased to be offering more NHS dental services in Romsey and bringing more NHS to the area."
