Burglars make off with jewels worth £5,000
JEWELLERY worth nearly £5,000 was stolen during a burglary at North Baddesley.
Police officers say the haul was also of great sentimental value to its owners.
The burglars struck at the house in Rownhams Road sometime between April 25 and May 2.
It is believed that the intruders were able to get in through a downstairs window at the front of the property.
Among the items stolen were a gold ring, a ladies pendant and bracelet, a gold locket with a matching brooch, chain and earrings.
A police spokesman said: "We would like to hear from anyone who is offered these items for sale."
Police also warned homeowners to lock their doors and windows when they left home.
Anyone with information about the burglary or saw anything suspicious is asked to contact PC Nikhil Shah on 0845-045-4545.
