A PUBLIC meeting on the future of the NHS is being arranged by MP Steve Brine.
The meeting, at a location in Winchester to be disclosed on Thursday January 12, is open to any Winchester and Chandler's Ford constituents, but by prior registration only.
It the latest of his ASKtheNHS events as the NHS publishes its Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) on the future of local NHS services.
Critics fear it heralds a round of hospital closures and mergers as health managers struggle to cope to rising demand.
The STP will plot the course for future health, social care and public health provision across Hampshire Proposals about the future of acute and emergency care across Winchester, Basingstoke and Southampton is expected soon.
The health trust that covers Winchester and Basingstoke has proposed a new emergency treatment centre on land just south of Basingstoke.
The January 12 meeting is due to be addressed by managers from Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust, the West Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group and the STP lead for Hampshire - to discuss what this means for local people and to give them a chance to ask questions.
