Stockbridge High Street is one of the tastiest places in Britain.

That’s the view of internet search engine, Google, which has been mapping out every road and lane across Britain.

It has asked a panel of experts from the likes of VisitBritain and Lonely Planet to draw up a shortlist.

Thanks to them, Stockbridge has now made the final 20 in the ‘Britain’s Best Foodie Street’ category.

Along with several independent stores, it boasts a Michelin star-winning eatery at The Greyhound.

Stockbridge will be in competition with, among others, Hope Street in Liverpool, Broad Street, Birmingham, and Charlotte Street in London.

The winner will be decided by a public vote at www.maps.google.co.uk/beststreets. The closing date is next Sunday (February 28)
