PLANS for a community facility in Twyford have faced criticism from residents amid fears it could divide the community.
At a heated meeting, villagers voiced concern that the project could damage the existing parish hall or even pave the way for housing.
Others argued that the needs are already met, the move could lead to more traffic and questioned whether the project was viable.
Around 120 people crammed into Twyford Parish Hall last Wednesday to hear Twyford Community Project (TCP)'s plans for a youth and community facility in the village.
The TCP has considered four possible sites - above the Twyford social club on Queen Street, at Northfields Farm, off Hazeley Road, a similar structure at Hunter Park or extending the current Twyford Parish Hall.
