DRINKERS in Colden Common raised their glasses to good times at a beer festival.

The local community centre in the village was packed with people of all ages for Colden Common Beer Fest.

Drinkers had a choice of 21 beers and four ciders, many brewed in Hampshire.

On the Friday evening the event was so popular that organisers ran out of chicken curry.

The festival which is in its fifth year, will raise funds to help towards the upkeep of the community centre.

Overall more than 200 drinkers attended the two-day festival where they enjoyed food and live music throughout both days.

Some of the beers on offer included Hooker's Choice from Queen Inn,Hurstbourne Tarrant's Serious Black, beers from new Botley brewery CrackleRock and It's 5 o'clock Somewhere' from new Swanmore brewer Ian Fullegar and many more.

One of the organisers is Maureen Rees, she said: "Friday was fantastic it has been a bit slower today and a bit quieter than last year where we really sunny weather.

"Everyone has been really enjoying themselves and we even ran out of curry on Friday night."

Organisers say they hope the festival will raise £1,500.
