NEW parking restrictions are set to be imposed in Swanmore as civic chiefs crack down on school-run parking.
Double yellow lines will now be painted along junctions of Chapel Road, Church Road, New Road, Dodds Lane and Vicarage Lane.
Winchester city councillors said this was to deter motorists from parking on corners and blocking roads. This was noted to be especially bad when parents would pick up their children from Swanmore C of E Primary School.
Zig-zag lines will also be painted in front of the school.
However, when the proposals were first advertised, 90 objections were submitted as residents said the lines would be unsightly.
These plans saw double yellow lines up along most of Church Road.
Nevertheless, the plans were unanimously voted through at the Cabinet Traffic and Parking Committee.
