WORK to make Twyford Social Club less noisy is continuing.

Bosses at the club in Queen Street, have installed equipment that cuts out music once it reaches a certain volume and say they are doing all they can to make the club a venue for the community to enjoy.

It comes after the Chronicle reported it took the step of banning all live music until the building had noise reducing insulation work carried out.

New committee member at Twyford Social Club Mary Timms said the work has been successful so far, and the club held a David Bowie Tribute night which went ahead without any complaints.

There will be more soundproofing work carried out and it is hoped it will help the club's long-term future.

Mary Timms, said: “We want get the club going and get different people in to raise money to make it as good as possible, it is a really good community venue.”
