A HORSE had to be rescued after getting its legs stuck between the wheels of a lorry.
Spencer the horse's hind leg had broken through the bottom of a lorry in Swanmore Road, Droxford on Sunday.
His leg was trapped between the rear wheels of the vehicle and crews had to anaesthetise him before they could free him.
Crews from Droxford, Lyndhurst and Overton then removed the wheels and moved him on to a rescue glide so he could get back on to his feet when he recovered.
A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: " Very lucky horse. Spencer is recovering having suffered no lasting damage and our thanks go to the veterinary team who attended the incident alongside our crews."
