A COMPTON and Shawford Parish councillor has been thanked for her continued work in the resurfacing of the M3.
Though absent from the last council meeting, chairman Adrian Walmsley thanked Una Stevens for her work which had “made a real difference”.
“The campaign started in 2001 when there was a meeting in Otterbourne Parish Hall attended by 300 people plus the MP at the time and parish councillors to get a quiet road surface,” he said.
“Then the objective was to get the road surface done by the end of the decade. Those people living near the M3 have said it's made a real difference and thanks is to be given to Una Stevens for keeping on with that.”
