A CAT has been put down after he was shot and badly injured in Colden Common.
The moggy went missing for two days near its home near the Hill Lane allotments following the incident two weeks ago.
It is thought it had been shot with either an air rifle or hand gun.
The parish clerk, Debbie Harding, has urged residents to look out for their pets.
“This is a horrendous incident,” she said. “If you have seen or heard anything suspicious please call 101 and report it, particularly if it relates to last week and you have seen persons with air rifles. Please be vigilant with your pets.”
