PARISH councillors have paid tribute to Sparsholt College students who repaired part of a public footpath.
A dozen college students fixed part of the footpath at the Place Lane underpass to Compton Lock, transporting several tons of materials by wheelbarrow along the narrow path.
Parish council chairman Adrian Walmsley said “and all this with a smile on their faces”.
“Thanks also to their lecturer, Charles Smith-Jones, for fitting this activity into their schedule, to Peter Watson, and Keith Honeychurch from Hampshire County Council Countryside Services, and particularly to our parish rights of way and environment representative, John Wilkinson, who masterminded the project.”
