MEMBERS of the Otterbourne Women’s Institute (OWI) have been congratulating their rivals after losing out at a recent darts match.
They played Houghton WI at their home ground, The Fox at Fair Oak, losing two legs to one, before taking victory against Charlton winning two legs to one.
The group has also been celebrating the recent success of the Otterbourne Jalopy.
Jo Stacey, the group’s press officer, said: “The Jalopy Fete at Otterbourne was successful both from the Church and OWI perspectives. With a stall selling produce, cakes and plants we were delighted to have raised a not inconsiderable amount, all towards the Church fund.
"Our committee worked hard and had a hectic but enjoyable time. This is our WI project to support the community. The jalopies were amazing, well executed and original.”
