Hursley residents are being urged to sow as many poppies as possible in preparation for the war commemorations.
The sowing season is usually between March to May but an excessive demand meant local garden centre Hilliers sold out of stock much sooner than expected.
Eleanor Bell, chairwoman of the parish council, said: “If you have space in a border or a planter, and would like to join in the poppy seeding, please grab a packet now.
"We look forward to a glow of red poppies through the village in July and August.”
