SEVERE weather conditions caused chaos for Winchester residents during rush hour today (MON) when icy roads caused two successive car accidents.
Poles Lane near Otterbourne was closed soon after the first incident which saw a car career into a ditch just before 8.45am this morning (January 20).
One ambulance was called to the scene and a man was taken to Southampton General Hospital.
Less than half an hour later two vehicles were involved in a collision on the same road.
Police attended the scene at 9.15am after ice caused a crash involving a blue Volvo and a red Mazda MX5.
Hampshire fire officers helped ambulance crew members to remove the female Volvo driver after she suffered minor injuries but she was not taken to hospital.
