TWO Hampshire bands nearly brought the house down in Bishop’s Waltham last week (April 23).

But had the roof actually fallen down, the audience would have been in safe hands - the band members were all from the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.

More than 300 ticketholders packed into the Jubilee Hall to first hear Fit for Purpose, and then Snatch Rescue.

The evening raised £4,000 for charity.

Fit for Purpose’s lead singer, Colin Reeves, said “It was a great night, a fantastic crowd and two great causes that the 3K4K team are riding and climbing to raise funds for.”

The musicians were raising funds for the 3K4K project, which will see participants cycle to Mt Snowdon, before climbing it, then pedalling onwards to climb Scafell Pike, and finally cycling onto Ben Nevis before climbing that, finally setting off for home by bike again.

Money raised by 3K4K will go to Leukaemia Busters and the Piam Brown Ward, both from Southampton University Hospital.
