POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of 1,500 litres of diesel from a north of Winchester.
Between 11pm on Sunday October 9 and 5.30am on Monday, thieves broke into a large compound at Coxford Farm, Micheldever.
It’s estimated that around 1,500 litres of diesel was siphoned from six lorries.
Police think a vehicle stopped on the slip road of the A303, the Micheldever Station junction, a wire fence was cut and the thief or thieves walked in and out of the compound with the fuel in containers.
PC Daniel Hunt said: “We think the smallest vehicle that could have been used to steal the fuel is a Transit van and the offender/s must have spent a considerable amount of time committing the theft.”
