KINGS Worthy campaigners trying to protect Top Field from development are holding a fundraiser on Saturday.

A two-course buffet, live band, auction and raffle will help fund legal costs in their battle to designate the site a village green.

Top Field Action Group's calls for a review were accepted in 2013, but developer Drew Smith won planning permission for the site earlier this year.

The Indian banquet will be followed by an 'auction of promises' with prizes including holiday cottage let in western France and a ride in a Rolls Royce Silver Seraph used to chauffeur the Queen Mother at Balmoral.

Tickets for the evening, at the King Charles pub, are available from £20 from 01962 882222 or tfaggroup@gmail.com.
