THE former police station in Stockbridge has been sold to Frobisher, a local developer for a sum around the £500,000 guide price.
Nigel Wolstenholme of Frobisher said the site could be redeveloped for housing and retail.
He said: “The building is located directly opposite the Market Room of the Grosvenor Hotel and it would be fitting to bring this type of facility to the High Street in Stockbridge”.
Andrew Newman, of Hollis Hockley, who advised Frobisher in the acquisition, said: “Retail opportunities in Stockbridge High Street are few and far between. We are confident that the opportunity will appeal to a number of retailers, both large and small, and are already in preliminary discussions with a number of those.
“The total site provides approximately 5,000 sq ft and at this early stage we are thinking that the ground floor retail space could total up to 4,000 sq ft with office or residential accommodation above. Needless to say if there are parties keen to be represented in Stockbridge High Street we would be delighted to hear from them”.
Lambert Smith Hampton acted for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire.
