A WINCHESTER mother has said she is "disgusted" after being left without hot water and heating for more than three weeks.

Naomi Witcomb, 28, said her boiler broke on January 26 and was left unrepaired until Friday.

The store assistant said housing association A2Dominion kept changing its mind about when repairs would take place, and the house was so cold her son, Harry, five, was going to bed in “a thick onsie and slippers”.

She said she was told that because Harry is five years old instead of three, her family “is not a priority”.

“Any child no matter what their age should be treated as a priority,” she said.

“We pay our rent on time every week, week after week. It's ridiculous.

“I was so relieved when the engineer knocked on our door. I don't care if I am cold, it is my son that's important.”

Mrs Witcomb, who lives with husband John, 56, a nightshift worker, in Upton Grey Close in Harestock, said they were provided with fan heaters but they were not adequate.

David Lingeman, A2Dominion's group director of property services, said a contractor investigated within 24 hours.

“A2Dominion takes all of its repair calls seriously and prioritise them according to their urgency,” he said, “especially where families with children are concerned.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time and thank Mr & Mrs Whitcomb for their patience.”
