KINGS Worthy Parish Council has decided not to support an application for nearly 60 homes.

Drew Smith Ltd has applied to build 50 houses at Top Field, and a further seven on Dildawn.

At the planning and highways meeting, on September 30, the developer presented its ideas to the committee and residents.

It includes upgrading existing access off Hookpit Farm Lane with associated roads, parking areas, landscaping, and an optional access off Springvale Road.

After deliberation the committee voted unanimously not to support the application, which will be considered by Winchester city planners.

The public consultation has now closed, and the expected decision date is November 28.
