BUCKLE up – it’s race night soon in Itchen Abbas!
Jackie Watson, of Worthy Down Lane in Kings Worthy, will climb Mount Kilimanjaro in February and is fundraising for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
She and partner John Knott will host the evening at Itchen Abbas & Avington Village Hall on Friday, September 12.
She said: “I hope the race night will raise £3,000. We have sold 150 tickets and people have been so amazingly generous. It should be a great evening.”
Loot the Goldsmiths in Winchester has donated a .4 carat diamond which will be a prize for the last race, aptly named The Diamond Stakes.
Other prizes include a helicopter ride, two light aircraft flights, and a luxury picnic hamper.
