THIS weekend villagers in Itchen Abbas will be gathering up their old toys and books.
On Saturday, August 2, there will be a Grand Jumble Sale in Itchen Abbas & Avington Village Hall.
Vernon Tottle, one of the organisers, said the event always stirs up memories in the village.
He said: “Jane Edmonds lived in Itchen Abbas for almost her entire life and died in her 80s about 10 years ago. She was a great local figure who ran local events. About 15 years back I was helping to organise a jumble sale and she said: ‘It is the duty of a village hall to hold a jumble sale once in a while’.”
There will be tea, coffee and cakes, and it starts at 10am.
