KINGS Worthy Parish Council has received a cash boost to resurface a popular car park.

Councillors were told this week that £22,175 has been secured from Winchester City Council to resurface the Eversley Park car park.

It is often overcrowded with parents dropping children to school or various clubs, cyclists and dog walkers.

Work is expected to take place during the summer holidays to limit disruption for school children.

Kings Worthy Parish clerk, Adrian Reeves, said: “We are very pleased to receive the approval to go ahead, and it came in under budget.”

The money is part of the open space funding, and councillors were informed at Monday’s parish council meeting (June 16).
