• KINGS Worthy Parish Council is currently seeking tenders for resurfacing at the Eversley Park car park.

The car park, which often becomes crowded during Saturday mornings, is challenging to negotiate at busy times and since the introduction of the path across the park it is being used more frequently by parents taking children to school.

The car park has not been resurfaced for some time, and the council plan to use developer’s S106 contributions to fund the works.

They will also mark out clear parking spaces, to make it easier for drivers.

  • DOG lovers in the Itchen Valley can turn their hand to fundraising next month.

Home-start Winchester and Districts, which supports vulnerable families with at least one child under the age of five, is holding a charity dog walk on March 27.

Starting at Pinglestone Farm in Old Alresford, there will be two guided walks around the Oxdrove Way and the Wayfarer’s Walk, finishing up with soup and a hearty Ploughman’s.

One of the walks will be shorter, lasting for approximately one hour, and the other a longer trip.

Organisers are inviting people with, or without, a dog to join in.

The charity helps families within a 12 mile radius of Winchester to ‘get back on their feet’ through support of volunteers.

It costs £10 per walker, and for more information email info@home-start.winchester.org.

Doors open from 11am until 1pm on March 15, with a fifty pence entry fee.
