• ST MARY’S Church in Kings Worthy has applied to extend its burial ground.

Kings Worthy Parish Council’s finance meeting heard last week the enquiry for the church to purchase a small strip of land from the adjoining church green.

No decision has yet been made, but the parish council are investigating the possibility of selling the land and determining the value of it, as well as considering if it is an option they would like to move forward with.

  • DATES have been released for the mobile library service in Itchen Abbas, Easton, Crawley, Sparsholt and Littleton for next month.

On February 4 the mobile library will call at Harestock Priors Dean Road between 11.00am-11.45am, Littleton South Drive between 11.55am-12.15pm and Sparsholt Woodman Close between 1.15pm-1.40pm.

The service will also call at Itchen Abbas Old Station Road between 1.30pm-2.00pm and Easton Cricketers between 2.15pm-2.45pm on February 11.

The library will also stop at Crawley Village Hall later in the month on February 27 between 9.40am-10.05am.

Kings Worthy has a variety of stops for the mobile library service throughout the month.

  • ST MARY’S Church in Kings Worthy has applied for a grant to add an additional name to its War Memorial.

Members present at the Kings Worthy Parish Council Finance meeting on January 15 recommended approval of the £114 grant.

The church has already been busy updating and maintaining both indoor and outdoor memorials.

No official decision has yet been recorded.

  • CALLING all flower arrangers!

All Saints Flower Arranging Society are due to meet on January 30 at the Millennium Memorial Hall in Littleton.

The group, who meet on the last Thursday of each month, partake in activities including demonstrations, talks by experts, visits to local gardens and flower shows, and members’ workshops.
