A DRIVER was taken to hospital after a car hit a tree in the Martyr Worthy area last night.
Firefighters were called to the B3047 near Martyr Worthy, where the car had hit a tree and overturned.
A man in his early 20s, was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening back injury.
Two fire engines from Winchester Fire Station were called to the scene at 11.30pm last night, and helped stabilise the vehicle.
A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service said: "At 11.26pm we were called to a traffic incident involving a vehicle that had overturned, we sent our hazardous area response team and an ambulance crew.
"A male in his early 20s was treated by paramedics for a possible back injury, and he was taken to Southampton General Hospital with a non-life threatening injury."
