Parish fears about housing scheme

4:40pm Friday 19th March 2010

THE March meeting of Hursley Parish Council was dominated by the Pitt Manor scheme for 200 homes in Winchester.

While just outside the parish, councillors were concerned about the knock-on effect in terms of traffic if the scheme is approved.

They also discussed upkeep of roads, the increase of rabbit holes at the village recreation ground, and the latest crime figures.

Apart from a break-in and two suspicious people seen near a farm, nothing else in the parish has been reported to police so far this year.

Councillors also agreed to set Monday, May 17, as the date for the annual parish meeting.
