MORE than 1,000 people enjoyed the Hursley Village Summer Fete.

The event was held on Saturday in the grounds of John Keble Primary School on Saturday and, this year, had a circus theme.

The bar was drunk dry and ice pops were sold in record number as people had to cope with the scorching temperatures.

Villagers were entertained by an interactive circus workshop, candy floss eating and a flame eating display.

Organiser Ann Ramsdale said: “It went really well. It seemed really busy. We raised more than last year for John Keble School and All Saints Church.”  Around £9000 was raised from the event.
