DROXFORD Parish Council has warned dog walkers to clean up after their animals.
Referring to the footpath behind the allotments on Mayhill Lane, the council said: "It is apparent that many dog walkers do not take the trouble to pick up the dog mess and deposit it in the bin provided at the edge of the playground.
"Dogs have also been seen running from this permissive path into the crops on the field. Unless there is an effort to keep this path cleaner and to stop dogs running through the crops, the farmer will withdraw his permission for people to use the path.
"Please give some thought to this and make it possible for us all to continue to enjoy the walk round the field."
They added: "The Parish Council is aware that it is unlikely local residents are the cause of this problem as they value their village and its environment."
