A BISHOP'S Waltham resident has launched a campaign to reimagine Abbey Mill as a tourist attraction.

Trish Simpson-Davis wants to protect the town's industrial heritage by saving the Victorian building from deterioration.

The Abbey Mill site has been put up for sale by Sainsbury's, who pulled out of a proposed superstore there earlier this year.

Ms Simpson-Davis is calling for a heritage area with small housing and business developments, respecting the setting of Bishop's Waltham Palace.

Sainsbury's has put the plot on the market but a buyer has yet to be announced.

Ms Simpson-Davis is asking for input from local people on how the mill and its surrounding flood plains could be restored.
