A WINCHESTER mum has launched a new bistro north of the city expanding her established catering company.

Cait Salanson, of Elm Road, started the Little Kitchen Company five years ago, bringing freshly cooked local ingredients to people’s homes.

Now the mum-of-three has unveiled The Little Kitchen Bistro in Headbourne Worthy for customers who want the goods but not the washing up.

Offering locally-sourced lunches, afternoon tea and the monthly supper club, the purpose built property, which is open seven-days-a-week, sits aside the Winchester Golf Academy.

The company has grown from a one-woman show catering for small dinner parties to a flourishing success story, now supplying for weddings, christenings and large corporate parties as well as events in Henley, Ascot, Lords and Wimbledon.

Ms Salanson, a former regional director with HSBC, said: “I have always been passionate about quality, locally-sourced, and well-cooked food, so being at home when the kids were small was the perfect opportunity for me to put this passion to the test in creating my own catering company.

“I started off cooking my first business lunch for four people in 2011, but my dream was always to have my own premises, where I could create delicious, truly local, real food, served in relaxed and attractive surroundings. This dream is now a reality.

“I am proud that this business is taking off in the city I live in and which I love. My staff are local, and we have created a new, fresh, and interesting venue, supporting local growers and businesses.

“This is a really versatile space – we welcome parents and kids for day-time coffees and cakes, those looking for a lovely lunch with wine from our carefully chosen list, and golfers from the attached driving range. We also cater for private events, and host open events such as wine tasting.

“We have loads of parking, a mini putting green, a kids’ menu, disabled access, and the large, sunlit patio is glorious for relaxed, al fresco dining.”
