AN INQUEST has been opened into the death of a man killed during a car crash near Winchester.
Police were called to the scene in Crawley, between Stockbridge and Winchester, in the early hours of a week last Saturday, where a car had overturned killing Paul Chilton and seriously injuring a 21-year-old male.
Mr Chilton, of Beeches in Crawley, was pronounced dead at the scene while his companion was taken to Southampton General Hospital, after a silver BMW three series was found in a field off New Barn Road.
The inquest resumes on November 2.
The main road through Crawley was closed throughout the morning of his death, caused by multiple injuries, while police carried out their investigation.
