POLICE are investigating a Hampshire crash after a 46-year-old man died at the scene.
Winchester firefighters were called to the fatal road traffic incident, on the main road of Crawley village, in the early hours of this morning.
Police have now launched an investigation, under the codename, Operation Burthwaite.
At around 3.45am, reports emerged of an overturned silver BMW 3 series in a field next to the main road, where the man was pronounced dead.
He was also travelling with a 21-year-old man, who is being treated for serious injuries at Southampton General Hospital.
It is believed his injuries are not life threatening.
The main road will be closed for the rest of the morning.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact the serious collision investigation unit at Eastleigh on 101, quoting the operation name.
