A MOTORCYCLIST has been seriously hurt in a crash involving their bike and a car.

An air ambulance landed at the scene near Colden Common for the man in his 50s who sustained serious injuries to his leg and pelvis.

However, he was then taken to Southampton General Hospital by road ambulance with the air ambulance crew assisting.

This followed a collision between a Nissan Note and a silver BMW on Highbridge Road, at the junction with Church Lane, in Highbridge shortly before 9.20am on Thursday.

The road remains blocked and police say it will be for “some time” until investigation and recovery of vehicles is completed.

A spokeswoman for South Central Ambulance Service said they had treated a man for serious injuries.
