Itchen Valley seeks comment for improvements to parking hot spot
A CHURCH council is looking in to improving a popular parking spot in Itchen Abbas.
The Itchen Valley Parochial Church Council wants to use a green mesh over the grass in the field at St John the Baptist Church to stop it from getting damaged.
Churchgoers, over-65 group CAMEO and the parent and toddler group all use the field for parking.
It is expected to cost £15,000 plus and the church council is currently waiting to hear back from city planners as to whether planning permission is required.
Nick Owen, of the PCC, said: “I would like to get people’s opinions because consultation is the name of the game at the moment.”
