POLICE are searching for a driver after a man was left needing an operation following a violent road-rage incident near Winchester.

The victim in his 60s suffered a broken wrist after his car door was repeatedly slammed into him.

He was driving from Twyford to Hockley Golf Club when he was overtaken and cut up by a dark-coloured Jaguar.

The victim tried to get out of his silver BMW soon after the 52-reg Jaguar stopped in the road.

The Jaguar driver got out and repeatedly slammed the car door into the man’s wrist before driving off towards the M3.

Detective Constable, Paul Harfield, said: “The road was busy at the time of the attack, and a queue of cars had built up behind the BMW. We are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, to come forward and speak to us.

“We’re also keen to speak to the driver of a lorry who was heading towards Twyford from the M3, who stopped and spoke to the victim. I would urge anyone with information to get in touch as soon as possible.”

Police want to speak to a white man, in his late 40s to early 50s, 5ft 11ins, slim build and wearing a black hat and dark clothing.

The victim will need an operation after the attack which happened between 7.15am and 7.25am on Monday.
