OWSLEBURY Parish Council is urging residents to look after their village following a spate of dog-fouling.
Villagers have complained about fouling at the recreation ground in Longwood Road, bus stops and at the Ship Inn gardens when the pub is closed.
Parish clerk, Michael Cleary, said: “Clearly the responsibility for clearing-up dog faeces is with the dog owner. Most are socially responsible residents, but a few let us all down.
“There are enough bins in the village for dog faeces - which cost all of us money to have specially emptied - and where one isn’t readily available, the owners should use a plastic bag and dispose of it in their home bin.”
Residents have been asked to report these instances to Mr Cleary or the Winchester City Council dog warden on 01962 840222 ext 2172.
