STREET lights in Alresford that are said to be causing problems for residents are soon going to be reviewed.

The full town council meeting last week heard that councillors are to meet with SSE to discuss covers for the new street lamps.

Some residents complained that the lights were so bright they could not sleep.

Councillors said the problem has been rectified across the town, except for The Soke, the light at the pharmacy and the corner of Jacklyns Lane.

They said they will meet with SSE to discuss The Soke this week.

The lights have been installed as part of a Hampshire County Council initiative to make street lamps more energy efficient and reduce carbon emissions.
